A developing sector close to home
North Queensland’s space sector is young but growing, anchored by the Bowen Orbital Spaceport roughly two hours north of Mackay. Ground infrastructure for launch and test operations needs the same disciplines as any other industrial site - reliable power distribution, well-documented control systems, and electrical engineering that meets Queensland’s compliance requirements - delivered to the standard a safety-critical environment demands.
We are upfront that this is a sector we are looking to build experience in, not one where we can point to a long project history. What we can offer is RPEQ-registered electrical engineering, PLC and automation experience from decades in demanding industrial environments, and a base close enough to the Bowen site to make ongoing site presence practical rather than a logistics exercise every visit.
Where our experience applies
Electrical design and RPEQ sign-off for ground support infrastructure - power distribution, switchrooms, and new equipment installations built to current Queensland electrical safety standards.
Control system and PLC work for ground support equipment, test rigs, and automated handling systems - the same engineering discipline we apply to industrial process control, adapted to the reliability and documentation standards a test or launch environment requires.
Instrumentation and measurement systems - loop checking, calibration, and signal integrity work that applies directly to test and measurement infrastructure.
Site electrical works for developing or greenfield sites, where infrastructure is being built from the ground up rather than modified within an existing plant.
Working across Queensland’s space corridor
Our Mackay base sits within reach of the Bowen Orbital Spaceport for regular site work. For Gold Coast-based operations and other Queensland locations, we scope travel, remote support, and site attendance patterns as part of any project discussion - the same approach we take with clients across the state.
