Engineering support across North Queensland
North Queensland supports a diverse industrial base - mining and resources operations, manufacturing, agribusiness, ports and bulk handling, and significant utilities infrastructure. Control system reliability and electrical engineering capability are essential across all of these sectors, and the consequences of unplanned downtime are real and immediate.
Beetle Engineering is based in Mackay and regularly travels across North Queensland for project and support work. Our experience across mining, manufacturing, ports, and utilities means we can work effectively across the range of industrial automation and electrical engineering that North Queensland operations require.
Control systems and automation work in North Queensland
Industrial operations across North Queensland run on Rockwell, Emerson, AVEVA, and Ignition control platforms - the same systems we work on across Queensland. Our work in the region covers PLC programming and control system upgrades, SCADA development and migration, RPEQ electrical engineering for switchroom and equipment modifications, and commissioning and FAT support.
Mining and processing operations in North Queensland place high demands on control system reliability. Plant that runs continuously requires engineers who understand the consequences of downtime and can deliver work within planned shutdown windows without extending outages.
Regional support from a Queensland base
For North Queensland clients, we structure project work to minimise site visits while delivering quality outcomes. Hardware is pre-configured and bench-tested in Mackay before we travel. Engineering and design is completed off-site. Site time is used for installation, commissioning, and operator handover.
For ongoing support, remote access via secure VPN means we can respond to faults and provide program support without the delay and cost of travel. We work with clients to establish appropriate remote access infrastructure as part of our project and support contract scope.
