ABB in Central Queensland industry
ABB variable speed drives are one of the most common drive families on CQ industrial sites. They appear on conveyors, pumps, fans, and process equipment across mining, sugar mills, manufacturing and water infrastructure, often running alongside Rockwell or Schneider PLC systems controlling the broader process.
The ACS and ACH series covers a wide power range and most industrial applications. Drives installed over the past two decades are still in service, which means working with everything from older ACS600 and ACS800 hardware through to current ACS880 installations.
Drive faults and integration
Most ABB drive fault work involves reading drive diagnostics, reviewing parameter settings, checking motor and feedback configuration, and verifying fieldbus communication status. ABB’s built-in diagnostics are comprehensive once you know how to read them.
Drive integration into SCADA or PLC-based control systems is standard work. Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP are the typical protocols, with speed references, status words, and fault registers mapped to the controlling system.
ABB DCS control software
Where a site runs ABB’s DCS control software, we can support configuration, fault finding and ongoing changes alongside the drive work - useful for sites where ABB is the vendor across both the drive and control layers.
